BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 9.6 percent the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.
Circa 7.28 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port in the 3rd month. Of this, about 4.49 million tons were loaded and 2.79 million tons were unloaded.
At the same time, approximately 4.15 million tons of cargo were exported, and 791,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port over the 3rd month.
Also, 104,000 tons of cargo were loaded and nearly 423,000 tons were unloaded at the port for transit during the reporting month.
During the 3rd month, approximately 149,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 1.43 million tons were unloaded at the port for cabotage.
Furthermore, 83,800 tons of cargo were loaded and 77,400 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment over the reporting period.
Meanwhile, 1,800 tons of cargo were loaded, and 65,800 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
Some 135,000 tons of essential products, 598,000 tons of metal products, 2 million tons of construction and mining materials, and 3,960 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 169,000 tons of chemicals, 1,620 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 6,690 tons of small and assorted products, 1.81 million tons of container products, and 2.53 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In total, about 13.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year. Of that, 5.55 million tons were loaded and 7.64 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
