BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), grew by 7 percent for the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2023), compared to the same month last year, Trend reports.
As was reflected in the data from Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), nearly 6.46 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port in the 9th month. So, 4.14 million tons were loaded and 2.32 million tons were unloaded.
Over the 9th month, about 4 million tons of cargo were exported and 469,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port.
Also, 52,400 tons of cargo were loaded and around 302,000 tons were unloaded at the port for transit during the reporting month.
In addition, 47,000 tons of cargo were loaded and approximately 1.34 million tons were unloaded at the port for cabotage during the 9th month.
Within the 9th month, 36,100 tons of cargo were loaded and 54,100 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 689 tons of cargo were loaded and 157,000 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
Some 560,000 tons of metal products, 2.25 million tons of construction and mining materials, and 4,810 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 35,100 tons of chemicals, 4,400 tons of small and assorted products, 1.02 million tons of container products, and approximately 2.56 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In total, 13.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year. Of that, around 5.57 million tons were loaded and 7.74 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 11.4 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
