BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. Azerbaijan transported 173.3 million tons of all kinds of cargo by all types of transport from January through September, which is 4 percent more than in the same period of 2023.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Statistics Committee (SSC) showed that 59.2 percent of cargo was transported by road transport (102.56 million tons), 28.9 percent by pipelines (50.15 million tons), 8 percent by rail (13.9 million tons), 3.7 percent by sea (6.36 million tons), and 0.2 percent by air transport.
The private sector accounted for 78.7 percent of freight transportation.
