ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 30. Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas (KMG, the national oil and gas company) and French Air Liquide have discussed the progress of the project for the construction of a hydrogen facility at the Pavlodar petrochemical plant, Trend reports.
Discussions took place during a meeting between the Chairman of the Management Board of KMG Magzum Mirzagaliyev and the Vice President of the French company Philip Christodoulou.
"KazMunayGas highly values the mutually beneficial cooperation with Air Liquide, established over the long period of presence of this company in our country. We are committed to further developing cooperation on oil refining projects with French partners," Mirzagaliyev said.
A cooperation agreement between KMG and Air Liquide Eastern Europe S.A. was concluded in November 2022 as part of the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to France.
During last year's Astana International Forum, the parties signed a document on the official start of the project for the construction of a hydrogen facility. The facility for hydrogen production will allow Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant to annually produce about 160,000 tons of winter diesel fuel.
