BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 2. Kyrgyzstan's capital, Bishkek, achieved a value of 33.4 billion soms ($382.6 million) in industrial output in the first quarter of 2025, while physical volume increased by 11.9 percent year-on-year.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee shows that the number of registered business entities in Bishkek stood at 165,800 as of April 1, 2025, including 100,100 legal entities and 65,600 individual entrepreneurs.
In January–March 2025, manufacturing accounted for 51.4 percent of the total industrial production volume in the city, electricity, gas, and steam supply – 46.1 percent, and water supply, waste treatment, and recycling – 2.5 percent. The share of Bishkek's industrial production accounts for 21 percent of the country’s total.
Overall, the value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 159.198 billion soms ($1.8 billion) from January through March 2025. The physical volume of production rose by 16.3 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
