DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, June 29. The value of fish farming production in Tajikistan amounted to 50.9 million somoni ($5.1 million) in the first five months of 2025, marking a 26.1 percent decrease compared to the same period last year, Trend reports, citing the country’s Statistical Agency.
During this period, total fish catch across the republic reached 1,719 tons. The largest shares were recorded in Khatlon Region with 989.5 tons and Sughd Region with 406.5 tons. Minimal catches were reported in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (0.5 tons) and several districts, including Vahdat, Rasht, Tursunzade, Faizabad, Rudaki, Gissar, and Shahrinav.
Among the main fish species caught were silver carp (637.7 tons), common carp (176.4 tons), trout (291.5 tons), grass carp (207.1 tons), pike perch (2.3 tons), and other species totaling 404 tons.
Fish farms received 1,537.3 tons of concentrated feed during the reporting period, primarily distributed in the Districts of Republican Subordination, with smaller amounts delivered to Khatlon, Sughd, the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, and Dushanbe. As of June 1, 2025, feedstocks remain in several regions, with the majority held in the Districts of Republican Subordination.
