DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 28. The value of fish farming production in Tajikistan amounted to 61.2 million somoni (approximately $6.4 million) from January through July 2025, which is a 19.6 percent increase year-on-year.
Data obtained by Trend from the country’s Statistical Agency shows that during the reporting period, total fish catch reached 2,021.4 tons nationwide. The largest volumes were recorded in Khatlon region with 1,099 tons, followed by Sughd region with 481 tons and Vahdat city with 425 tons. Smaller volumes were reported in Gorno-Badakhshan (1.4 tons), Rasht (3.1 tons), Tursunzade (3 tons), Faizobod (2.2 tons), Hissar (2 tons), Rudaki (1.9 tons), and Shahrinav (0.8 tons).
Among the main species, catches included 690.5 tons of silver carp, 419.5 tons of trout, 235.9 tons of white amur, 219.3 tons of carp, 9.5 tons of pike-perch, and 446.7 tons of other fish.
Meanwhile, fish farms received 1,995 tons of concentrated feed during the period, 2.3 times more than last year. As of August 1, 2025, feed stocks stood at 1,426 tons, 2.1 times higher compared to the same date in 2024.
