TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 8. Uzbekistan's gold and foreign exchange reserves amounted to $34.56 billion as of January 1, 2024, increasing by $1.66 billion in December 2023, Trend reports.
The data of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan shows that most of the reserves are kept in gold - $24.63 billion. Gold in reserves rose by 0.3 million troy ounces over the month. In monetary terms, the growth amounted to $906.3 million.
According to the new data, foreign currency assets amounted to $9.3 billion.
The amount of foreign currency in reserves increased by $751.3 million. Other foreign currency assets account for $86.3 million.
Meanwhile, value of Uzbekistan's gold and foreign exchange reserves amounted to $32.9 billion as of November 1, 2023.
As per data provided by Uzbekistan’s Central Bank, the value increased by almost $2 billion compared to $31 billion recorded in October this year.
Moreover, the physical volume of gold amounted to 12 million troy ounces, which is equivalent to 373.2 tons, while its value fixed at $23.9 billion.
