TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 3. Uztemiryulcontainer JSC (Uzbekistan's company focusing on container transportation by rail) launched a block train from China’s Jiangsu Province to Margilan Logistics Center (Uzbekistan), the company told Trend.
The block train, made up of 100 special 20-foot containers, rolled out from the Chinese Wuxi station, chugged along 4,650 kilometres through Kazakhstan’s Altynkol station for 9 days, and finally pulled into the Margilan logistics center, which is in the hands of Uztemiryulcontainer.
Meanwhile, Uztemiryulcontainer JSC continues to work to further develop its international cargo transportation network and expand new destinations. The company has organized a new multimodal route for container transportation from Indian Mundra, Nhava Sheva, and Chennai ports to Uzbekistan.
The cargo made its way across the waves from India to the bustling port of Bandar Abbas in Iran, before hopping on the rails to reach its final destination at Sergeli station in Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, the initial freight train, which had 20 containers, traveled 2,673 kilometers in a span of 20 days. The goal of the project is to cut the delivery time in half, to fifteen days in the future.
