TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 14. Uzbekistan's Tashkent region is investing $1.5 billion in 5 projects with a capacity of more than 805 megawatts to cover the deficit in energy, Trend reports.

This was revealed during President Mirziyoyev’s visit to the region’s Tinchlik industrial zone.

With the growth of population and economy, the demand for energy sources is increasing. For example, over the past four years, electricity consumption in Tashkent region has increased by 20 percent.

At the same time, great attention is paid to green energy sources. "Enter Solar Green Energy" enterprise in the Tinchlik small industrial zone produces solar panels and various cables necessary for solar energy.

Equipment worth $7 million for the Italian Ecoprogetti company has been installed at the enterprise. It is used to produce 377,000 high-quality solar panels per year. The enterprise itself also has 125 kilowatt panels.

Meanwhile, the economy of Tashkent district grew by 23 percent in the first half of 2024.

The district's industry sector is expected to grow and reach 9 percent by the end of the year. At the same time, the growth rate of the service sector will reach 13 percent due to the development of investments worth almost $53 million.
