TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 27. Another container train has been dispatched from India to Kazakhstan via Uzbekistan as part of ongoing efforts to establish a regular freight route, Trend reports.

According to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport, Uztemiryulkonteyner (Uzbekistan Railways’ subsidiary) continues working on the consistent operation of container trains along the route from Mundra Port (India) to Sorokovaya Station (Kazakhstan).

The first shipment on this route was carried out in early March in cooperation with TULM JSC and Kedentransservice (a leading logistics and transportation company in Kazakhstan). The latest container train consists of 22 twenty-foot containers loaded with ceramic tiles.

The journey stretches across Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, racking up 1,585 kilometers by sea and 4,300 kilometers by rail in about 25 days, a real marathon on the map.

Previously, container shipments from India to Uzbekistan were successfully carried out on this route (Mundra – Sergeli). The chairman of the board of Uztemiryulcontainer noted that the company aims to establish regular container train shipments along the India-Central Asia multimodal corridor.
