TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 4. Uzbekistan
imported 5,800 tons of tea worth $8.5 million from January through
February 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan's National Statistics Committee
shows that the largest tea supplier during this period was China,
which exported 4,720 tons to Uzbekistan. Other key suppliers
included Iran (360 tons), Kenya (160 tons), and Russia (130
tons).
Additionally, India supplied 99 tons of tea, while the UAE
exported 72 tons, further diversifying Uzbekistan’s tea
imports.
Meanwhile, the volume
of goods imports to Uzbekistan reached $5.54 billion from January
through February 2025, which is less by $240.8 million
year-on-year. The imports of services reached $660.8 million.
Overall, in the first two months of 2025, Uzbekistan imported
goods and services from 144 countries. More than two-thirds of the
imports came from major partner countries, including China (28.7
percent), Russia (17.3 percent), Kazakhstan (7.6 percent), South
Korea (4.1 percent), Türkiye (3.8 percent), Germany (3.8 percent),
and India (2.8 percent).
