Iran unveils fishery export forecast

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 10. Iran's fishery exports are expected to reach 300,000 tons worth $700 million in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025), the chairperson of Iran's Fisheries Organization Hossein Hosseini said, Trend reports.

According to him, 210,000 tons of fish and fishery products worth $650 million have been exported compared to last year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).

Hosseini added that Iran's exports of fish and fishery products amounted to 68,000 tons worth $138 million during five months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through August 21, 2024). Iran's exports of fish and fishery products increased by 24 percent in value and 32 percent in weight during the five months compared to the same period of last year.

To note, Iran's non-oil exports during the four months of the current Iranian year amounted to $17.5 billion and 47.9 million tons. For four months, Iran's non-oil exports increased by 10 percent in value and 4.6 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.
