BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 6. The volume of shipped and loaded products in the ports of Hormozgan, located in southern Iran, increased by 25 percent during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023), the director of eastern ports of Iran's Hormozgan province, Hamid Reza Mohammad Hosseini told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 1.49 million tons of oil and non-oil products have been loaded and unloaded at the ports located in eastern Hormozgan province during the six months.
Mohammad Hosseini stated that 1.27 million tons of non-oil products were loaded and unloaded in the ports located in the east of Hormozgan province during the six months. This is a 33 percent increase compared to the same period last year. A total of 225,000 tons of products were unloaded and 1.04 million tons of products were loaded.
To note, 9 ports are operating in the east of Iran's Hormozgan Province. Among these ports, Shahid Bahonar, Tiyab, and Kask are considered operating ports.
