Cargo handling volumes at western ports of Iran's Hormozgan Province increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 3. The volume of loading and unloading operations at ports located in the west of Hormozgan Province in southern Iran increased by 2 percent during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), the Director of Hormozgan Province Ports and Maritime Department Morteza Salari told reporters, Trend reports.

According to him, 8.58 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the ports located in the west of Hormozgan Province for eight months.

Salari noted that 4.33 million tons of oil and petroleum products and 4.25 million tons of non-oil products were loaded and unloaded in ports located in the west of the province.

The official stated that 4.05 million tons of products were exported from ports located in the west of the province. The merchandise exports were 2.08 million tons of non-oil products and 1.97 million tons of oil and petroleum products.

To note, a total of ten ports are operating in the west of Iran's Hormozgan province. Among these ports, Lengeh, Charak, Siri, and Lavan ports are the most active.
