BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 5. More than 22.3 million tons of cargo have been loaded and unloaded at the Persian Gulf oil port in Hormozgan province in southern Iran from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2024) to the present (January 5, 2025), the Director General of İran's Ports and Maritime Administration of Hormozgan Province Hossein Abbasnejad told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, 14.3 million tons of the mentioned cargos were loaded and unloaded in cabotage transportation and about 467,000 tons in transit transportation.
Abbasnejad noted that 745,000 tons of products were imported
through the Persian Gulf oil port during the mentioned period.
The official added that 1,116 ships arrived at the Persian Gulf Oil
Port during the mentioned period. This is 12 percent more than in
the same period last year.
To note, the Iranian Persian Gulf Oil Port is located in a special economic zone belonging to Shahid Rajaei Port with 10 oil platforms. Various types of oil products, gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, bitumen, white oil and other commodities are transported through this port.
