Iranian airports report significant rise in flight operations

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. The number of passenger planes flying from Iranian airports increased by 9 percent during the ten months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through January 19, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through January 20, 2024).

The data obtained by Trend from the country's airports shows that the number of flights organized through Iranian airports during ten months totaled about 262,000 (261,946).

Meanwhile, the statistics note that during the same period last year, the number of passenger airplanes flying via Iranian airports amounted to about 240,000 (239,804).

To note, as many as 54 civilian airports operate in Iran. Of these, 14 are international airports. Iranian airports carry an average of 30 million passengers a year.
