The deputy chief of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) said the Iranian government has participated in Iraq and Oman’s bidding to develop their oil and gas projects.
“We have participated in Agip’s tender in Iraq. We have also held talks with Iraqi oil officials in Basra and Maysan,” Mohammad Reza Takaidi told ILNA news agency on July 9.
He added that NIDC is also in talks with Oman over oil and gas projects and expressed hope to come to a conclusion with them.
The Iranian oil ministry plans to participate in new tenders in the next three months to get more work and revive oil rigs, Takaidi said.
Referring to Iran’s ongoing oil and gas development projects, Takaidi said, “We are in negotiations with Russian, Dutch, Norwegian and Italian firms. We have also signed a number of MoUs with them”.
The deputy chief of the NIDC further said drilling operations at Kish Gas Field, the Persian Gulf’s second largest gas field after South Pars, is nearly completed after Iran purchased equipment from Canada and Singapore.
Kish gas reserves lie at a depth of 3800 to 4300 meters. The gas field's length is about 32.2 kilometers, has a length of 22.5 kilometers and a depth of 480 meters.
