Football hooligans interrupted capital’s derby in Turkey arrested

On Friday Turkish security forces held a large-scale operation to arrest football hooligans who interrupted last week's football game between Turkish football teams of Galatasaray and Beshiktash, TRT Haber TV Channel reported.

It is reported that the Istanbul police conducted an operation in several locations, which resulted in the detention of about 100 people.

Earlier 69 fans were detained for interrupting by a riot, a match between football teams.
The match in Turkish Championship's fifth round between Istanbul's Beshiktash and Galatasaray was not played to the end.

At the 91st minute when the score was 1-2, after the removal of a player of Galatasaray Felipe Melo, Beshiktash fans ran onto the field and started to beat the stewards and police. Most of fans who ran out on the lawn, were holding plastic chairs, and tried to hit with them anyone who got in their way.

Law enforcement officers had to use tear gas to stop football hooligans.
