BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10. The number of passengers arriving at Adnan Menderes Airport in Izmir grew by 14 percent year-on-year to 5.3 million in June 2024, Trend reports via the data of the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
The data also shows that in the reporting month, the airport's passenger turnover for domestic flights increased by nine percent compared to the same month in 2023 and amounted to 3.4 million people, while for international flights it increased by 25 percent and amounted to 1.89 million people.
Meanwhile, the airport's cargo turnover amounted to 71,192 tons, an increase of 16 percent compared to April 2023.
Additionally, the airport's cargo turnover for domestic flights increased by 17 percent in June this year compared to the same month in 2023 and amounted to 41,356 tons, while for international flights, it increased by 15 percent year on year and amounted to 29,836 tons.
The number of flights from the airport in the reporting month increased by nine percent compared to June 2023 and amounted to 35,959.
Meanwhile, the number of flights performed on domestic flights increased by four percent and equaled 22,699, and international flights increased by 19 percent to 13,260.
Passenger traffic in all airports in Türkiye in June this year amounted to 104.7 million people, and cargo turnover reached 2.2 million.
To note, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye in 2023 exceeded 214 million people, and cargo turnover was 4.2 million tons.
