BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 13. The influx of passengers at Türkiye’s Adnan Menderes Airport in December 2024 rose by nine percent compared to the same month of 2023, reaching 11.5 million passengers.
The data obtained by Trend from the country’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure shows that last December, the airport's passenger turnover on domestic flights increased by five percent year on year and amounted to 6.7 million people, and on international flights - by 16 percent to 4.79 million people.
Meanwhile, the airport's cargo traffic was 161,487 tons, a growth of 10 percent compared to December 2023.
Furthermore, in December 2024, the airport's cargo traffic on domestic flights rose 12 percent over the same month in the previous year to 84,815 tons, and cargo traffic on international flights hiked by nine percent to 76,672 tons.
The number of flights from the airport last December went up by seven percent year-on-year, equaling 78,254.
Meanwhile, the number of flights performed for domestic flights grew by two percent to 45,201, and for international flights, it increased by 15 percent to 33,530.
The passenger traffic in all airports in Türkiye in December last year amounted to 220.98 million people, and cargo turnover was 4.9 million tons.
To note, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye in 2023 was 117.9 million people, and cargo traffic was 2.4 million tons.
