BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 28. Azerbaijan imported 55,961 tons of rice worth $58.1 million in the period from January through October of the current year.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Customs Committee shows that this is $15 million (34.9 percent) more in value terms and 8,287 tons (17.4 percent) higher in volume compared to the same period of last year.
Rice imports accounted for 0.35 percent of the country's total imports during the ten months.
To note, 47,674 tons of rice worth $43.1 million were imported during ten months of last year.
