BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. Azerbaijan shipped out 47,885 tons of sugar and sweet treats, raking in a cool $36.9 million from January through November this year.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's State Customs Committee shows that this is $12.1 million (55.1 percent) more in value and 16,693 tons (53.5 percent) more in volume than the same period last year.
In the meantime, sugar and sugar confectionery exports made up a modest 1.39 percent of the nation's total exports over the first 11 months.
Simultaneously, Azerbaijan imported sugar and sugar confectionery products worth $218.3 million during the first 11 months of the current year, which is $6.1 million (2.7 percent) less than the same period of the last year.
The import of sugar and confectionery commodities from this source constituted 1.16 percent of the aggregate importation metrics for the nation over an 11-month period.
