ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 11. Over the past 6 years, funding for science in Kazakhstan has increased sixfold, said Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov at a Government meeting, Trend reports.
“Over the last 6 years, science funding from the national budget
has increased sixfold and this year amounts to 252.5 billion tenge
($505 million),” Bektenov noted.
The PM also underlined that, according to the Concept for the
Development of Science until 2029, funding for this sector will be
increased to 1 percent of GDP.
Today, Kazakhstan holds a Government meeting in Astana. The agenda
includes the development and digitalization of science.
