ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 11. The total
contribution of scientific projects to Kazakhstan's economy
amounted to 118.4 billion tenge (approximately $236.8 million),
said Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat
Nurbek at a Government meeting, Trend reports.
He accentuated that since 2016, Kazakhstan’s Science Fund has held
6 competitions aimed at commercializing scientific
developments.
"It is important to note that over the past 3 years, no funding or
co-financing was allocated for commercialization. We have resumed
this work and increased grants for commercialization. Total
contribution of projects to the economy amounted to 118.4 billion
tenge (approximately $236.8 million). Several thousand jobs were
created," said Sayasat Nurbek.
Today, Kazakhstan holds a Government meeting in Astana. The agenda
includes the development and digitalization of science.
