BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. The implementation of the "Roadmap for Advancing Interoperability and Comparability of Sustainable Finance Taxonomies" was discussed in Geneva, Switzerland, Trend reports.

For this purpose, a roundtable was organized with the participation of representatives from partner organizations and initiatives.

Launched in November of last year within the framework of COP29, this initiative is a joint effort of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the International Finance Corporation, the Sustainable Banking and Finance Network, the United Nations Development Program, and the International Platform for Sustainable Finance.

The roundtable participants highlighted the increasing importance of interoperability in the global sustainable finance ecosystem.

In the course of the event, it was agreed that the roadmap would play a global platform role in coordinating taxonomy initiatives, enhancing collaboration, and aligning activities.

The participants shared updates on existing initiatives, tools, or country-support programs and outlined possible next steps for the implementation of the roadmap.

Partners also emphasized the importance of aligning these initiatives with global policy forums, including the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group, the UN's 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, and prestigious events like COP30 and COP31.
