BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. Azerbaijan imported vehicles and their parts worth $493.6 million from January through March 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that this is an increase of $25.1 million, or 5.3 percent, compared to the same period in 2024.
Vehicle and parts imports accounted for 8.72 percent of the country's total imports during the reporting period.
Additionally, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover grew by 24.3 percent, reaching $12 billion in the first quarter of this year.
The data shows that over the past year, the country’s exports rose by 6.7 percent, or $401.7 million, reaching $6.4 billion, while imports increased by 52.6 percent, or $1.9 billion, totaling $5.7 billion.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade balance showed a positive surplus of $722.9 million, which, however, is $5.1 billion, or 3.1 times less, compared to the same period last year.
