BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. Of the 8.8 billion manats ($5.19 billion) of government securities in Azerbaijan's circulation as of April 1, 2025, 16 percent are government securities with maturities of one year, 73.8 percent with maturities of two to three years, and 10.2 percent with maturities of five years or more.
Data obtained by Trend from the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan shows that the average maturity (weighted average term to maturity) of government bonds in circulation was 1.33 years as of the reporting date.
In the first three months of 2025, early repayments of principal on government bonds issued in previous years were made in the amount of 642.1 million manat ($378.84 million), and interest and discount payments totaled 110.4 million manat ($65.14 million).
