BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. Banks operating in Azerbaijan earned 897.8 million manat ($529.7 million) from loan interests during the first quarter of this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank (CBA) shows that this figure grew by 168.7 million manat ($99.5 million) or 23.1 percent compared to the same period last year (729.1 million manat or $430.2 million).
Specifically, in January 2025, banks earned 294.9 million manat ($173.0 million), in February – 298.5 million manat ($176.1 million), and in March – 304.4 million manat ($178.6 million) from loan interests.
As of late March 2025, the total credit portfolio of the banks amounted to 27.9 billion manat ($16.5 billion). Of this, 14.9 billion manat ($8.79 billion) accounted for business loans, 8.6 billion manat ($5.07 billion) - consumer loans, and 4.4 billion manat ($2.60 billion) - mortgage loans.
