BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. Over 1.4 million passengers were transported by air in Azerbaijan from January through May 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that this figure represents a 7.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Nearly all passenger flights, 99.9 percent, were operated by state-owned carriers, with private companies accounting for just 0.1 percent.
Meanwhile, air freight transport saw a slight decline of 0.4 percent, with total cargo reaching 161,300 tons during the reporting period.
