BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. Azerbaijan imported a total of 42,786 cars from January through May of this year.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee shows that the
expenditure associated with the importation of this quantity of
vehicles totaled $789.8 million.
In juxtaposition to the corresponding timeframe of the preceding
annum, automotive imports experienced a surge of 7,216 units,
translating to a robust 20.3 percent increase in volume, alongside
a monetary escalation of $141.3 million, equating to a substantial
21.8 percent uptick in valuation.
In the specified timeframe, Azerbaijan executed the importation of
210 motor vehicles engineered for the conveyance of 10 or more
individuals, inclusive of the operator, with a total valuation of
$16.2 million. Additionally, there were 39,009 passenger
automobiles and assorted motor vehicles imported, aggregating to
$709.1 million, predominantly purposed for the transportation of
individuals.
It is noteworthy that between January and May 2025, Azerbaijan
engaged in trade transactions totaling $21 billion with
international partners. This metric stands at $2.5 billion,
reflecting a 13.7 percent increase relative to the corresponding
timeframe in 2024.
The aggregate foreign trade volume comprised $11 billion in export
transactions and $10 billion in import activities. In the preceding
fiscal year, there was a contraction in export metrics by 1.2
percent, juxtaposed with a substantial escalation in import
volumes, which surged by 36.5 percent.
Consequently, a surplus of $1 billion was generated, representing a
decrement of $2.8 billion, or a reduction factor of 3.7 relative to
the corresponding timeframe in the previous fiscal year.
