ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 22. Kazakhstan will allocate substantial resources to geological exploration in 2025, with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov announcing at a government meeting that at least $56.166 million will be directed to support new exploration activities, Trend reports.
Bektenov stated that this step follows the presidential instructions to strengthen the country’s resource base. The funding will be sourced from subscription bonuses collected through subsoil use auctions, marking a shift toward reinvesting extractive revenue directly into exploration.
The PM also noted that the allocated volume is likely to increase, as further calculations are underway to optimize budget allocations. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to securing long-term mineral reserves and ensuring sustainability in the mining sector.
