ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 29. Starting in 2026, Kazakhstan will introduce key performance indicators (KPIs) for district and city leaders to stimulate local employment growth, Trend reports via the Kazakh government.
The decision follows a government meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Olzhaz Bektenov, who instructed a range of ministries and regions to strengthen employment oversight and data transparency.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, in coordination with regional leaders, has been tasked with achieving key labor market indicators outlined in regional employment maps. Regional leaders are required to take personal responsibility for the fulfillment of employment plans, with a focus on the creation of permanent jobs.
Moreover, the Ministry of National Economy, along with sectoral ministries and local authorities, must upload all data on investment projects scheduled for 2025–2027 into the national planning information system by September 1, 2025. In addition, KPIs for local officials aimed at expanding employment will come into force in early 2026.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Digital Development has been tasked with integrating public and private sector data and creating a unified digital system to support new job creation by the end of the year.
