BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 30. Trade turnover through customs in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan Province reached $5.98 billion, totaling 20.3 million tons in the first half of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through September 22, 2025), Behrouz Gharabaghi, inspector at the provincial customs, told reporters, Trend reports.
Gharabaghi highlighted that the export metrics registered at
$3.15 billion, translating to approximately 10.5 million tons,
whereas the import figures peaked at $2.8 billion, nearing 9.8
million tons.
The official underscored that a substantial $776 million in goods,
aggregating 3.51 million tons, were dispatched to Iraq via the
province's customs framework. The customs revenue reached an
impressive 139 trillion rials (approximately $238 million),
reflecting a substantial 52 percent uptick relative to the
corresponding timeframe in the previous fiscal year.
According to IRICA's analytics, the export metrics for non-oil
commodities from Iran have ascended to $25.9 billion, encompassing
a throughput of 75 million tons. This reflects a marginal uptick in
fiscal value alongside a 6 percent enhancement in volumetric output
relative to the preceding fiscal cycle (spanning March 20 through
September 21, 2024).
