BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21. The volume of trade between Azerbaijan and the US reached over $1 billion from January through October 2025, Trend reports via the country's State Customs Committee.
This represents an increase of $19.7 million, or 1.9 percent, compared to the same period of 2024.
Trade with the US accounted for 2.59 percent of Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover during the reporting period, ranking the US as the 6th largest trade partner of the country.
Exports from Azerbaijan to the United States totaled $52.7 million, reflecting a decrease of $65.8 million, or more than 50 percent, compared to the same period last year. In contrast, imports from the U.S. amounted to $1 billion, representing an increase of $85.5 million, or 9.3 percent, positioning the U.S. as the fourth-largest source of imports for Azerbaijan during the reporting period.
In total, Azerbaijan's foreign trade reached $40.8 billion from January through October 2025, marking an increase of $1.5 billion, or 3.8 percent, year-on-year. Of this total, $21.6 billion was attributed to exports, while $19.2 billion represented imports. Over the past year, exports experienced a decline of $1.1 billion, or 4.9 percent, while imports saw a rise of $2.6 billion, or 15.6 percent.
As a result, the country's foreign trade balance recorded a positive surplus of $2.41 billion, though this represents a decrease of $3.7 billion, or nearly 2.5 times, from the previous year.
