Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan approved and unanimously adopted the draft "on the ratification of the Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation in regard to income and capital taxes", an official Turkmen source announced on Monday.
The document was signed in October 2012 in Bern after the extended negotiations at the highest level.
The convention was signed by the presidents of Turkmenistan and Switzerland Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf.
The source also aid Turkmenistan is interested in cooperation with Switzerland in such fields as machinery, chemical, textile, electrotechnical and electronic, pharmaceutical industries.
The parties agreed on future activation of joint multilateral activity, particularly within UN and other authoritative international organizations, as well as on continuation of regular consultations between foreign offices of two countries.
