A delegation of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan took part in the 74th session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), local TV channel "Altyn Asyr" reported.
The agenda of the next meeting of one of the largest structural units of the United Nations includes the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the period up to 2030 in the Asia-Pacific region.
The main goal of the ongoing National Rural Program is to raise the quality of life of people to a new level, to create conditions for improving the welfare of the people, which is in line with one of the objectives of the SDGs, says the broadcast referring to the speech of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the government meeting.
In this regard, it is important to keep focus on the timely implementation of the measures defined in this document, the head of state said, instructing to carefully analyze the implementation of the above program. In January 2018, it was reported that within the framework of the National Rural Program, 60 facilities for various purposes, in particular, 31 water and sewage treatment facilities, more than 352 square meters of housing accommodations, as well as various engineering systems were being built in the country.
