A new oncology clinic for 50 million euros will be created in Uzbekistan, Trend reports via Podrobno.uz referring to the Ministry of Health.
Recently, representatives of the OPASCA German Oncology Solutions GmbH and the Uzbekistan Ministry of Health signed a memorandum to create a modern clinic in Tashkent, provided with the latest technology and equipment, as well as the training of Uzbek specialists at the prestigious Mannheim University.
"It will be possible to diagnose and effectively treat the most severe and complex cases. Above all, leading specialists and scientists of Germany will work in this modern hospital. Furthermore, local specialists will be trained by professors from the Mannheim University. Thus, a system of regular training and retraining of specialists will be created for the first time in our country," Minister of Health Alisher Shadmanov noted.
There are more than 100,000 cancer patients officially registered in Uzbekistan.
Unfortunately, in more than 50 percent of cancer cases, their detectability occurs in advanced stages. Treatment becomes quite difficult at this period and in most cases it is palliative in nature, aimed at a slight increase in life expectancy and improvement of life quality.
