Turkmenistan has started to actively export vegetable products to neighboring countries, Trend reports with reference to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET).
In February, more than 17 tons of tomatoes grown in Turkmenistan were delivered to Kyrgyzstan.
Environmentally friendly products belong to the greenhouse farm of entrepreneur Nurmukhammed Gapurov. The farm is located in the Ovadandepe village of the Ahal region of Turkmenistan, the report said.
At the same time, the export of tomatoes to Russia and Kazakhstan continues.
The plans of the entrepreneur include the expansion of the greenhouse complex and the development of new export routes.
Earlier it was reported that an export-oriented greenhouse complex was commissioned in Shukur Bakhshi area of the Kaakha district of Turkmenistan’s Ahal region.
The greenhouse, built upon the order of Yigit local company, covers 10 hectares and is designed for the production of 2,500 tons of vegetables per year.
Dutch technologies are used in tomato cultivation. Tomatoes were planned to be supplied not only to the domestic market, but also to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
A 20 hectare-land plot has been allocated for the construction of another greenhouse in Kaakha district. In general, Yigit company has 1,000 hectares of land.
