A logistics center will be built in Turkey’s eastern Van province, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on July 29.
The construction of the logistics center in the province is expected to be launched in 2020 and to be completed by 2025.
"It will be mainly aimed at receiving cargo from neighboring Iran," the ministry said. “The center's total area will cover 591,000 square meters.”
“Currently, projects on the creation of 12 logistics centers are being implemented,” the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
According to the ministry, eight logistics centers are being designed and the corresponding tender is being held, while four logistics centers are being built.
Foreign contractors will be able to take part in the construction process.
In total, construction projects of 21 logistics centers in Turkey are planned to be implemented within the government’s 2023 Vision Plan. Nine logistics centers have already been commissioned.
