ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 24. Safi Holding, one
of the largest industrial holdings in Türkiye, is considering the
construction of a high-tech sugar factory in Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the press
service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
This issue was discussed during a meeting between the head of the
ministry, Aidarbek Saparov, and the CEO of Safi Holding, Safi
Atakan.
The project is expected to involve an investment of $150-$200
million. The planned capacity of the future plant will be up to
140,000 tons of sugar per year, with the processing of
approximately 1 million tons of sugar beet.
The selection of a suitable region for construction in Kazakhstan
is currently underway, with the availability of arable land and
developed infrastructure being key criteria. The Ministry has
expressed its readiness to provide comprehensive support for the
project, including state support measures.
