Crude oil transportation through the Goureh-Jask pipeline, which is considered the longest crude oil pipeline in Iran has been launched, Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Masoud Karbasian said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.
The deputy minister emphasized that it takes about 1 month for the crude oil to reach the Jask terminal.
Karbasian added that the pipeline will be officially launched in the near future.
According to the deputy minister, the domestic production and installation of cranes, electric pumps, 1,000 km of pipes, storage facilities, terminals and floating systems Single Point Mooring (SPM) played a major role in the laying of the pipeline for crude oil transportation.
The CEO noted that given the importance of the Goureh-Jask pipeline, several consecutive tests have been conducted to eliminate all deficiencies.
The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.
It is planned to install 6 submarine pipelines, crude oil metering systems and 3 floating systems (SPM) at the Jask oil terminal in Iran. At the first stage, 1 metering system, two 36-inch pipelines and one floating system will be put into operation for the extraordinary operation of this terminal.
Reportedly, daily 300,000-330,000 barrels of crude oil will be transported through the 1st phase of Iran's Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline.
