BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4. Iran’s Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant in the Qazvin Province (northern Iran) generated over 6.63 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), the Director of Shahid Rajaee TPP Abolfazl Mutabha said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
"Of the mentioned volume, 3.12 billion kilowatt-hours were generated by the combined cycle units of the thermal power plant, while 3.51 billion kilowatt-hours - by steam units," the director said.
The Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant has 13 units. Four of them are steam units each generation capacity of 250 megawatt-hours, and the rest are combined-cycle units. In total, the TPP can generate 2,040 megawatts of electricity.
