BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 15. Iranian banks lent approximately 1.78 quadrillion rials (about $42.3 billion) in the housing and construction sectors of the country in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), Trend reports.
Data of Iran’s Central bank shows that the loans were allocated for various purposes in the housing and construction sectors:
- Construction work: 995 trillion rials (about $23.7 billion);
- Working capital: 669 trillion rials (about $15.9 billion);
- Development work: 63.6 trillion rials (about $1.52 billion);
- Purchase of housing: 39.9 trillion rials (about $950 million);
- Purchase of personal assets: 4.67 trillion rials (about $112 million);
- Repair work: 2.17 trillion rials (about $51.7 million);
- Self-employment: 1.34 trillion rials (about $31.8 million).
In total, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 31.7 quadrillion rials (about $754 billion) in various economic sectors within the first 9 months of the current Iranian year.
