BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. Tabriz Shahid Madani International Airport, located in the northwest of Iran, experienced a 13 percent increase in the number of flights for the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), said Ramin Azeri, the Director General of Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province Airports Department, Trend reports.
According to him, the airport handled 10,776 flights in 10 months.
At the same time, 1,343,483 passengers were transported via the airport in 10 months, which is 10 percent higher than the same period last year, Azeri said.
He also stated that the airport hosted 166 international flights in the 10th month (December 22, 2023 through January 20, 2024), a 43 percent increase from the same month last year, when 116 flights were conducted.
The Shahid Madani Tabriz International Airport of Iran covers on an area of 420 hectares.
