BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 9. Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) CJSC transported 4.4 million tons of cargo, including 1.8 million tons of transit cargo, in the first quarter of 2024, Trend reports.
"Along with this, the volume of transit cargo transportation increased by 11 percent compared to the figure from January through March 2023," the CJSC noted in the report.
Domestic freight transportation through ADY accounted for 816,352 tons from January through March 2024, which is 6 percent more than the figure for the same period in 2023.
In 2023, the volume of transit freight traffic via ADY amounted to 6.87 million tons, compared to 7.48 million tons in 2022.
