ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 9. Türkiye's crude oil imports from Kazakhstan amounted to 647,763 tons in July 2023, Trend reports.

As Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) announced, this figure exceeds the import volume of the same period last year (397,460 tons) by almost 63 percent.

The share of imports from Kazakhstan is 15.7 percent of the total crude oil that Türkiye imported in July 2023 (2.41 million tons). In July 2022, Kazakhstan's share in Türkiye's total crude oil imports (2.99 million tons) was 9.68 percent.

In addition, in June 2023, Türkiye imported 385,850 tons of crude oil from Kazakhstan, and in May, it imported 439,030 tons.

Türkiye's total crude oil imports amounted to 3.088 million tons in June and 2.463 million tons in May.

From 2010 to 2022, trade and economic ties between Kazakhstan and Türkiye strengthened 3.4 times, reaching $6.3 billion. The main growth occurred in the last two years, almost doubling since 2020.

In the structure of trade with Türkiye, about 75 percent is occupied by exports from Kazakhstan (4.8 billion), where the main goods are oil and oil products, copper, zinc, aluminum, lead, etc.
