ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 11. Vietnam's SOVICO Group to modernize airports in Kazakhstan's Turkestan and Kyzylorda cities, Trend reports.
According to KAZAKH INVEST (a national company), a memorandum of cooperation in this area was signed between the Vietnamese company and the executive authorities of the Turkestan and Kyzylorda regions.
Nguyen Thanh Hung, Chairman of the Vietnamese group of companies, noted that SOVICO Group is considering the possibility of increasing the frequency of flights from Vietnam to Kazakhstan.
Moreover, the group is interested in developing the country's trade and logistics potential, particularly on the territory of ICBC Khorgos. The initiative involves the warehousing and storage of goods produced in Vietnam and ASEAN countries for subsequent sale in Kazakhstan, Central Asian countries, the EAEU, and Europe.
KAZAKH INVEST Industry Executive Azizkhan Kudabekov noted that the signing of these documents demonstrates the intention of the Vietnamese conglomerate to participate in the development of regional airports, including as cargo and passenger hubs and ports for aircraft of the airline QazaqAir, which belongs to SOVICO.
"The implementation of this initiative will have a positive impact on the level of development of the domestic ground-based air transport infrastructure, which is the primary basis for the development of the entire civil aviation industry," he said.
To note, SOVICO is one of the largest diversified conglomerates in Vietnam. The group's main areas of activity include aviation, real estate, banking and finance, energy, technology, and digital systems.
