Kyrgyzstan discloses volume of trading in securities in 1H2024

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 17. The total volume of trading in securities in Kyrgyzstan on the securities market amounted to 105.1 billion soms (about $1.23 billion) from January through June, Trend reports, citing the Financial Market Regulation and Supervision Service under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan.

Thus, compared to the same period in 2023, trading volume increased by 200 percent.

At the same time, for the period from January 1 through June 20, 2024, 73 issues of securities worth 106.1 billion soms (about $1.25 billion) were registered, which is 41.8 billion soms (about $492 million), or 28 percent less year-on-year (in the 1st half of 2023, 86 issues of securities were registered in the amount of 147.8 billion soms, or about $1.74 billion).

Of the 73 issues of securities, 30 issues were carried out by closed joint-stock companies in the amount of 54.6 billion soms (about $642 million), 41 issues were carried out by open joint-stock companies in the amount of 90.7 billion soms (about $1.07 billion), and 2 issues were carried out by limited liability companies in the amount of 9.7 billion soms (about $114 million).

In addition to this, from January 2024 on, the republican budget of Kyrgyzstan received 43.26 million soms (about $509,000) for the consideration and issuance of licenses for bookmakers and licenses for casino activities.

For the first half of 2024, non-tax revenues to the country’s budget for the issuance of licenses, permits, qualification certificates, and registrations of securities issues amounted to 45.5 million soms (about $536 million).

To note, at the end of 2023, 1,655 legal entities and individuals operated in the non-banking financial market.
