BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 18. Kyrgyzstan aims to launch 20 new oil wells by the end 2024, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy.

The ministry has summarized the results of the country's energy sector for the past nine months and outlined plans for the remainder of the year.

It was noted that the 500-ton-per-day Kyrgyz-Turk K-Neftegaz oil refinery in the Batken region's Kadamjay district is almost finished. The commencement of oil extraction and processing is expected to create 350 to 400 jobs, with total investments reaching $90 million.

On February 9, 2024, the ministry reported the issuance of License Agreement No. 2 for the extraction of oil and gas at the North Sukh and Chongara Galcha fields.

Additionally, Kyrgyztransneftgaz, in collaboration with Kyrgyz-Turk K-Neftegaz, has completed repair and preparatory work on seven oil wells, with extraction starting on September 25, 2024.

Kyrgyzneftegaz is the leading oil and gas extraction company in Kyrgyzstan. The company's total oil production amounted to 184,000 tons in 2023, an increase of 6,000 tons compared to 2022 and 11,000 tons more than in 2021.
